Back from Best of Botswana 2012

201202_kwando_1182Our group of 7 has just returned from Botswana and I am pretty sure that all will agree that the experiences that we had with Kwando Safari Camps exceeded all expectations. There is always the slight concern in the green season that rain might stop play, but I am glad to say that once again we did not miss a drive and the showers that we did experience were short-lived and added to the excitement and atmosphere. We spent 4 nights at Kwara Camp on the edge of the deep Delta and enjoyed excellent cheetah sightings, lion and a great deal of other great sightings in between. It does take a bit more work to find game at this time of the year but when you do the green backdrop is simply out of this world…. and then there are the flowers, the birds and the wonderful moody skies. Our highlight was towards the end of the trip at Lebala in the Linyanti where a pack of 20 wild dogs gave us great entertainment. Our trackers found them late one morning year John’s Pan and we watched them hunting and killing 3 warthogs. In the process they flushed a large male leopard into a tree. All tremendously exciting. I am planning to return to Botswana in February 2012 so if you are keen on joining this trip please contact me soon as places will be limited. The actual dates are to be launched in the next few weeks.
