Cape Town is also winning in the wind

Its always worth getting up for the sunrise — and thanks to Veronica de Bruyn and  Dewald van Breda for agreeing to a 5 am rondezvous to catch the summer sunrise. Not only did we get the sun rising up above False Bay, but we were in time to see the amazing Jackass Penguins at Boulders setting off for their early morning fishing outings. We were also ahead of the tourists into Cape Point for some great landscapes and wildlife.

The southeaster was doing its thing but we found some pretty good hideaways and were it not for the wind the we would not have been able to predict the flight of birds into the wind and nor would the sugar bird we spotted let us get quite so close. It was just not letting go of that branch even with us a few metres away.

Back at my studio for a late lunch we looked over our images and had a cold beer. Not a bad day in the office, I figured.
