Liuwa Plains is one of my favourite places on earth — a landscape as flat as you can imagine that is inundated with water for most of the year and at its very best in May and November. Robin Pope Safaris have one final concession in this area before it is opened up to other operators. So in many ways this is a last chance to see this area in its present form. I am also delighted that the set departure for May 2014 will be led by myself as well as Jason Alfonse.
The first time I went to Liuwa it was by microlight with Ben Parker while researching my book Zambia Living Landscapes. I returned again on three different trips thereafter. Each visit has been extraordinary. You can see some of my pictures in this blurb book made on my last trip.
