David Rogers specialises in the photography of game lodges and small hotels as well as landscapes, aerials, wildlife, food and people. He uses a combination of digital and film and provides colour-corrected images on disc with professionally corrected match prints to ensure the highest quality is maintained through the printing process. David is an award winning photographer who has contributed to Africa Geographic, Getaway, Geo and Daily Telegraph and has photographed several books including Zambia Landscapes, Safari in Style: Southern Africa and Safari in Style: Zambia. He has photographed hundreds of lodges and landscapes throughout Africa developing a keen eye for capturing their unique essences.

Photography Rates
from R3500 per day
from R2800 half day

Included
The costs of the photographer's time for the period while he is on the shoot and also time in the studio compiling a selection of low-res images for transmission to client for their short list selection. 10 hi-res images will then be colour corrected and CD in Tiff and Jpeg format. For half day shoots five images will be provided.

Please note that discounts are available for shoots of more than three days duration.

Board and lodging.
Stylists, assistants, and models
Flights, car rental, petrol, and other unforeseen travel expenses. AA rates of R2 per kilometre apply.
Film, with processing, at R160 ea. (where applicable)
Additional digital hi-res and professionally colour corrected captures at R150 each.
Additional A4 300dpi hi-res drum scans professionally colour corrected captures at R200 each
Optional printed contact sheets at R100 per sheet.

The brief
It is the client’s responsibility to give the photographer a full written brief. Where specific details are missing in the brief, the client undertakes to accept the photographer’s interpretation. 

The assignment
he client is responsible for having a representative present at all times when the assignment is being executed to approve style and content. Where no representative is present, the client shall accept all decisions made by the photographer in relation to execution of the brief.

Daily rates
t is always best to identify the extent of usage for the images before entering the agreement because this greatly affects price.  Usages not requested at the time of the shoot can be renegotiated at a later stage.

Copyright
The client has unlimited usage of 10 images taken during the assignment for the production of brochures, advertisements and other promotional material for a period of two years. The photographer and his agents may also market images through photographic libraries and publish magazine editorials.

Renewals
Renewals for shared and exclusive copyright deals will be based on the following format. 1 image = 35 per cent of the current daily rate, 2 images = 50 percent, 3 images = 70 per cent, 4 images = 85 per cent and 5 images = 100 per cent. 

Payment & Advances
A standard first payment of 50 percent of the daily fee and 100 percent of out of town expenses is payable before the assignment.
The balance of the payment will be due within seven days of the shoot.

Ownership of materials
Original materials will remain the property of the Photographer for safekeeping.

Weather cancellation and insurance
The client is responsible for taking out weather insurance.

Postponement  & Cancellations
The photographer will charge for cancellation and postponement within two days of shoot  (100 percent), one week  (50 percent) and more than one week (no charge).

Indemnity
The client indemnifies the photographer against any claims brought against the photographer by any third party during the shoot.

Electronic imaging and storage
Electronic manipulation of images may only take place for the purposes of the original brief.
