mid August 2012 – final dates to be finalised

$6284,80 per person | $368 single supplement

Premium game viewing time | predators | elephants | landscapes |

Journey to Mana Pools and Hwange in Zimbabwe and rediscover the wonderful natural attractions of this spectacular country which is starting to emerge as a prime tourist destination. The trip starts and ends at Victoria Falls and includes 4 nights in a private tented camp in Mana Pools National Park and 3 nights at Hwange National Park.

At Mana Pools we will be staying in a  tented camp that is sent up entirely for our group with our own experienced guide and camp staff to look after our needs. We will explore the area on foot and in open game drive vehicles. Mana Pools, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site, is one of the wildest areas in Africa and produces outstanding game viewing particularly in the dry winter months when antelope — and attendant predators — converge on the shrinking pools. Our trip in August is prime game viewing time. There are question marks over the future of Mana Pools with large hotels having been proposed for the future — so if you want to see this area at its pristine best now is the time to go.

Hwange  is the largest national park in Zimbabwe and is especially known for its elephants which are found in large numbers particularly during these dry months. We spend three nights experiencing its diverse habitats and wildlife species. The parks is also known for its lion, wild dog and antelope species.

DAvid – I would do this trip! Can’t do the Mara with you this year. I’ll be there with Daryl in early Sept, then up to Elephant Watch, and finally to Karatu to help out a friend who wants to build a school and dorm for the children of the Masaii who work in the Crater.

So then, back home until next March!

Who filled up our March trip. I have two candidates????

  2. Hi David (Hello BarBARA – above response – why the emphasis on a ‘Bar’ – this shows what a ‘party girl’ you are. Love from MJ and myself).
David – Zim sounds like a great idea, not just because they are our neighbours, but the Zimbabweans are wonderful people and need our tourism support. I have read some good reports about the game viewing and would be curious to visit.
Please send more info……accomodation, price, flights, vehicles available, etc, etc.
    Best regards
    Ritchie Morris
